Essential Eight with Coach and Consultant Kate Pintor
Essential Eight with Coach and Consultant Kate Pintor
Kate Pintor, “The People Whisperer,” operates on a simple principle: Business is personal, and personal is business.
With over 17 years of transformational leadership training under her belt, dual coaching certifications in Strengths Strategy and Awake Coaching, and as one of the top 5% of strengths coaches in the world, Kate brings wisdom and creative energy to the leadership and culture of organizations. Having spent over 10,000 hours coaching individuals and teams, Kate has effectively activated her executive and entrepreneurial leaders to climb out of their own “wheelchairs” to engage their lives, work and vision with passion, and to uncover their zone of genius and that optimal sweet spot where their highest work and greatest impact collide.
Kate is passionate about creating work cultures where people can thrive, and inspires fierce ownership of the emotional wake we each have around our stories. Her personal journey of resilience and overcoming severe long term illness sparks a powerful relatable urgency.
As a conscious business specialist, she engages the values of Conscious Capitalism in all her work: Higher Purpose, Conscious Leadership, Conscious Culture, and Stakeholder Orientation. She also served on the board of CCBA as the Marketing Chair, and as Synergist for Quantum Tao. She is currently serving on the team for Relating Languages for AuthRev creating new pathways for social and emotional health.

We recently sat down to learn more about Kate—here are her eight favorites!
An essential book to read
When I think about the importance of community, and learning to welcome it, I would choose Braving the Wilderness by Brene Brown. “Stop walking through the world looking for confirmation that you don’t belong. You will always find it because you’ve made that your mission.”
An essential activity to try
Authentic Relating Connection Circles… Or, the game “We’re Not Really Strangers.” A simple human moment of authentic connection can help you enjoy your work, and regulate your nervous system. Available at Target!
An essential podcast to listen to
Rich Roll. One of my favorite episodes is with Rainn Wilson: We Need a Spiritual Revolution.
An essential lesson to learn
Your genius/gifts will attack you with purpose anxiety until you figure out what your gifts are, how you want to express them, who you make a difference for, and how to serve quickly. Sometimes the moments we make incredible impact, we minimize what it meant to others. Curate those moments.
An essential destination to visit
Moonstone Beach, Humboldt County at Sunset on a Full Moon.
An essential idea in your life
Be an amazing stranger. People need an angel once in a while. Do random radical generous acts—even if they’re small. It’s the fastest way out of Imposter Syndrome.
An essential skill to master
Tell people you’re in relationship with what’s working—when they get it RIGHT with you. The entire world is full of criticism, and we rarely develop the habit of being specific with our praise. Focus more on what’s working, and more works.
An essential recipe to try
Finnish Pulla. My grandfather brought a recipe for cardamom rolls home from a trip in the Merchant Marines in the 40s to Finland. I make them every holiday and as a gift when people are recovering and need a little sweet dough.
