Essential Eight with Registered Art Therapist Jordan Gonzales
Essential Eight with Registered Art Therapist Jordan Gonzales
Jordan Gonzales is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a nationally Registered Art Therapist. His experience includes working with individuals with anxiety, depression, substance-use disorders, and other challenges related to life transitions and trauma across the lifespan.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, Jordan also values and offers options for alternative processing through the visual creative process. Artmaking, the process and the product, is another form of communication that we are all fluent in. Engaging in the art therapy process provides distinct benefits to the mind, body, and spirit compared to traditional talk therapy alone.
In addition to his clinical work, Jordan is currently completing his PhD in Art Therapy from Dominican University of California. Jordan has guest lectured at various universities and facilitates art-based wellness and art-based training groups. You can learn more about Jordan’s work on his website: www.jagarttherapy.com

An essential fact to know
During WWII, the U.S. Military, on the advice of a dental surgeon, explored the possibility of dropping thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats with time-delayed incendiary devices tied to their legs on Tokyo. The intention was for the bats to nest in the wooden structures of Tokyo and then simultaneously ignite, causing thousands of fires and destroy the city. Codenamed Project X-Ray, testing of the “weapon,” showed it to be effective and it was only canceled due to the atomic bomb being ready before the “bat bombs.”
