Dr. Carole Yoshiwara is a sports chiropractor in Santa Rosa, passionate about helping athletes and anyone eager to take charge of their health. She’s a certified personal trainer (NASM-CPT), Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, and Barbell Rehab Method Certified. She also serves as Team Chiro for Redwood Empire Gymnastics, Vallejo Aquatics, and SRJC.

As an athlete herself, Dr. Carole understands the pressures to perform, bringing that same urgency to her patients. She’s your go-to for shoulder pain, low back pain, ankle injuries, and more.

In her free time, Dr. Carole enjoys training for sprint triathlons and half marathons, having competed at the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships in 2021. She’s also a member of Team Zoot and loves hitting the trails with her dog, Hope.

We wanted to learn more about Dr. Carole, so we asked her to share her Essential Eight.

1. An essential book to read

10x is Easier than 2x by Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan. A great read for entrepreneurs or business owners.

2. An essential office item

My tea station, especially during the cooler months. I’ve got a variety of teas depending on my mood, and it helps me focus when I need to get work done.

3. An essential home item

My Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I love to bake and experiment in the kitchen. Anything sourdough and anything sweet.

4. An essential activity to try

Surfing. I haven’t surfed in a while, but it’s always a great challenge, the conditions are never the same, you get to be one with the ocean, and get a workout.

5. An essential skill to master

Time management. Your life will run smoother and decrease your stress in your busy life. I always have my paper planner with me!

6. An essential lesson to learn

You will never get what you never ask for. If you want something, go get it, or ask someone who can help you. No one can read your mind, so speak up.

7. An essential food to try

Anything I haven’t tried before. I am all about trying and tasting new foods. I like to say I don’t want to make a judgment on it until I try it.

8. An essential recipe to try

Any sourdough recipe. I love experimenting with sweet and savory sourdough recipes. My top ones right now are brown butter sourdough chocolate chip cookies and English muffins.
