Every September, hundreds of cyclists make their way through Northern California for a weekend that is about much more than the miles they ride.

On September 19–20, Bike MS: Waves to Wine returns to Sonoma County, and for the 22nd year, SOMO Village is proud to welcome riders and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society back to our community.

For us, this isn’t simply another event on the calendar. After more than two decades, Waves to Wine has become part of the rhythm of SOMO Village and a partnership we’re proud to continue.

Riding Toward a World Free of MS

Bike MS is one of the largest fundraising cycling series in the world, bringing riders together to raise funds and awareness for multiple sclerosis.

Nearly one million people in the United States are living with MS, and every rider, team, volunteer, donor, and supporter who participates in Bike MS contributes to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s work toward a world free of the disease.

That mission is what makes welcoming Waves to Wine back year after year so meaningful.

22 Years at SOMO Village

For 22 years, SOMO Village has had the opportunity to be part of the Waves to Wine experience.

During the two-day event, cyclists take on routes of varying distances through Northern California and Sonoma County. On Saturday, riders participating in the 23- and 44-mile routes depart from SOMO Village, while longer routes begin in San Francisco. On Sunday, the 21- and 57-mile routes both start and finish here.

Throughout the weekend, SOMO Village also becomes a gathering place for riders, teams, volunteers, friends, and families.

It’s an experience we look forward to each year—not only because of the energy it brings to the Village, but because of the purpose behind it.

More Than a Ride

One of the things we value most about being part of Waves to Wine is seeing so many people come together around a shared cause.

Some participants ride because MS has touched their own lives. Others ride alongside friends, family members, or teammates. Volunteers and supporters contribute in their own ways. Together, they help raise awareness and funds while showing the strength of a community working toward the same goal.

SOMO Village is proud to continue supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and to provide a place where part of that community can come together each September.
