We are thrilled to announce the launch of our SOMO Village blog!

Mar 21, 2018

For those who have not heard, SOMO Village is an internationally recognized and award-winning 200-acre redevelopment in southern Sonoma County in the City of Rohnert Park, California.
SOMO Village’s is home to several prominent and forward-thinking companies. Currently, about 1,500 employees work in 30 businesses at SOMO Village, including Keysight Technologies, AT&T, Comcast, Traditional Medicinals, Rieke Packaging, Morton & Bassett and Credo High School in addition to other local, small businesses. The community has been redeveloped by SOMO Living LCC which holds equity investments in companies that enhance health, well-being, and lifestyle, such as Altwork, Newbarn, and Community Fuels.

SOMO Village is a unique mixed-use community, meaning that homes and businesses will all be near each other. It is a traditional village feel with daily services and jobs close to home! We understand that “walkability” is extremely important, so houses will be organized within a five-minute walk of the town square where you can get daily services like shopping and entertainment. Every part of the planning and community design are being considered and intended to be sustainable. We hope to create and nurture conditions where people and nature can exist in harmony to support present and future generations. We do all this with the inspiration from the One Planet Community Principles, which focus on zero-carbon energy, sustainable transport, local food, health and happiness, culture and community.

In our monthly blog posts, we will explore one of the guiding principles and share with you our thoughts, inspirations, ideas, and tips on how to live a better, healthier and fuller life in this fast-paced world. We would like this blog to be a platform to engage with our local community, as well as other like-minded people from other parts of the world. We welcome everyone to join the conversation and share thoughts and comments on each post. We hope that we will inspire you to improve your life and the life of your community!
